The natural ecoregions of Colombia are territorial divisions that divide the country into six major geographic areas: Pacific, Orinoquía, Insular, Caribbean, Andean, and Amazonia. These six regions are distributed throughout Colombia's more than one million square kilometers, and run through the country's 32 departments, many of them located in more than one natural ecoregion.

This region of climatic diversity has a pleasant warm and tropical climate, in addition to beautiful landscapes, which make it an important tourist destination in Colombia. La región andina, ubicada en el corazón de Colombia, es una de las más pobladas del país. Su geografía, sus recursos hídricos y toda su riqueza cultural y natural, su versatilidad de paisajes lo convierten en uno de los más populares para el turismo. La belleza que podrá observar al visitar cada rincón de su territorio rico en biodiversidad biológica y cultural, se debe a la presencia de las sierras occidentales, centrales y orientales, cunas de grandes ciudades, valles, cañones y mesetas, y un sistema fluvial compuesto por dos de los ríos más importantes de Colombia: Magdalena y Cauca.

Es una región con una inmensa riqueza ecológica, hidrográfica, minera y forestal en la que existen parques nacionales naturales. También es considerada una de las regiones con mayor biodiversidad y precipitaciones del planeta con precipitaciones del orden de 4.000 mm / año según el Ministerio de Minas y Energía de Colombia.
También es la tierra principal de la cultura afrocolombiana y de numerosas tribus indoamericanas que fueron llamadas "chocoes" por los españoles en la época de la conquista, aunque el término incluye familias lingüísticas de diferentes orígenes. La costa coloca a Colombia frente al océano más grande del mundo y con él un punto de encuentro internacional vital para su desarrollo.
Entre los destinos más importantes se encuentran Nuqui, Bahía de Utria, Bahía Solano e Isla Gorgona.

La Región de la Orinoquía está formada por amplias llanuras y sabanas. Entre la fauna típica de esta zona se encuentran el venado sabanero, el chigüiro, la corocora colorada, el mono cara colorada, así como el tigre, el guio negro o anaconda, el caimán del Orinoco y la víbora codorniz. La Orinoquía también alberga más de 300 especies de aves, en su mayoría acuáticas. El río Orinoco, de donde deriva el nombre de la región, es uno de los ríos más importantes de la Orinoquia, es el cuarto río más largo de Sudamérica y el tercero más grande del mundo.
La flora de esta región se encuentra mayoritariamente agrupada en el Parque Nacional Natural El Tuparro, clasificado como Reserva de la Biosfera. Desde este lugar se pueden apreciar todos los paisajes de la llanura del oriente colombiano: las sabanas, los ríos, las cañerías cristalinas y sobre todo los bosques de galería que son un atractivo turístico muy atractivo.

Sin embargo, la exuberante naturaleza de la región es acompañada de una no menos rica tradición cultural cultivada por los "llaneros", dedicados trabajadores criadores de ganado quienes visten liquiliquis, cuentan leyendas, practican coleo y bailan al golpe de las arpas del joropo.
Tambien puedes disfrutar de la mejor gastronomia llanera. la cual es hecha de pisillo de chigüiro, cachama, hallaca, guarapo y por supuesto, la tradicional mamona.
Las principles atracciones son el Parque Nacional El Tuparro, Los Cerros de Mavecure, Caño Cristal, el rio de los 5 colores y la Hacienda Aurora.
The Orinoquía Region is made up of wide plains and savannas.
